Toukpe Onuwaje, the ex-wife of Reno Omokri, has expressed her support for Senator Natasha Akpoti, who has been at the center of a sexual harassment controversy involving Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
In a message of solidarity posted on her Facebook page, Onuwaje praised Senator Natasha’s bravery, describing it as “inspiring.”
“Your bravery is inspiring! Sharing your story takes immense courage, and I’m so proud of you for speaking out,” Onuwaje wrote.
“Remember, you’re not alone, and your voice matters. Keep shining, and know that you’re making a difference! Sending love and prayers.”
Onuwaje’s show of support comes hours after her ex-husband, Reno Omokri, distanced himself from the controversy. Omokri claimed to have had a similar encounter with Senator Natasha, stating that his dispute with the lawmaker began after he rejected advances from a woman who was a friend of hers.
According to Omokri, Natasha subsequently accused him of sexually harassing her at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in May 2014. However, Omokri provided evidence that he was in the United States at the time, serving as former President Goodluck Jonathan’s special envoy, and the matter was later resolved through an out-of-court settlement.
