Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has strongly condemned the Supreme Court’s ruling to withhold local government allocations in Rivers State.
Frank described the judgment as “a deliberate injustice” and “criminal usurpation of allocation rightly belonging to Rivers people”.
Frank accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of plotting to oust Rivers State Governor Fubara, connecting it to the court ruling that halted monthly allocations to Rivers. He warned that President Tinubu and the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, should be held accountable for any unrest that may follow.
Frank also alleged that the Tinubu-led government is using the judiciary to destabilize Governor Fubara’s administration. He urged the people of Rivers State to rally behind their governor and warned of unrest if interference continues.
The development has sparked concerns about the potential consequences of the Supreme Court’s ruling on the stability of Rivers State.
