Federal Government policy for the Visa on Arrival project is outlined in plans by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).

Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, who is the director general of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), stated this while she was attending a meeting with Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who is the Minister of Interior, to discuss the Visa on Arrival (VOA) procedure.

During the discussion, issues were addressed, and the opinion of the government regarding the VOA proposal was made clear.

A reassurance was provided to the Director General by the Minister of the Interior during the meeting that the Visa Arrival procedure is not going to be eliminated but rather improved in order to improve its efficiency and effectiveness.

The PEBEC is making steps to simplify procedures and minimize the bureaucratic limits that are placed on conducting business in Nigeria, and this new development is in line with those objectives.

The minister made it clear that travelers can still submit their applications for short-stay visas online, and approvals are often issued within twenty-four to forty-eight hours.

The applicant will no longer be required to present a physical sticker upon arrival because the visa will be emailed to them once it has been finalized and approved.

He said, “This upgrade builds upon the existing online approval system, streamlining the process and enabling travelers to receive their approvals ahead of time.”
