The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ratified the zoning of its national chairmanship slot to the North West, a move that secures the seat for the current national chairman, Umar Ganduje.

According to Felix Morka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, “The NEC has ratified the zoning of national chairmanship position to the North West.” This development comes after the position was initially zoned to the North Central, which led to Senator Abdullahi Adamu emerging as the chairman.

However, Adamu’s tenure was cut short due to internal party crisis, resulting in his resignation along with former National Secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore.

Following their resignation, Dr. Abdullahi Adamu, the former Governor of Kano State, took over as chairman, with Senator Ajibola Basiru as the Secretary.

In another move, the NEC constituted a seven-member committee, chaired by the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, to bring more members into the NEC of the party.
