Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has taken a significant step towards enhancing security in the state by donating 50 operational vehicles to security agencies.

This gesture, announced during the second Gombe State Security Summit, aims to bolster the capacity of security agencies to combat crime, ensure peace, and maintain stability across communities.

The summit, held at the International Conference Centre in Gombe, brought together key stakeholders to discuss and propose solutions to insecurity challenges facing the state and the North-East region. The theme of the summit, “Building a safer and more secure Gombe State: Addressing insecurity through collective action,” emphasizes the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing security concerns.

Governor Yahaya stressed that the donation of operational vehicles is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to enhance security. He noted that the vehicles will enable security agencies to respond promptly to distress situations and rise to the security challenges confronting the state.

The General Officer Commanding, 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Folusho Oyinola, commended Governor Yahaya for prioritizing security matters, describing Gombe as “one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.

“Experts, including Gen. Abdulrasheed Aliyu (rtd) and AIG. Zubairu Mu’azu (retd), presented papers on the role of technology and intelligence in combating security challenges and community policing in enhancing local security.

This donation is not an isolated incident; recently, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, presented 50 operational vehicles to security agencies in the Federal Capital Territory to support their efforts in combating crime.

The Gombe State Government’s commitment to enhancing security is a step in the right direction, and it is hoped that this gesture will have a positive impact on the state’s security situation.
