The police officer who shoots an immigration official in Minna, while trying to disperse thugs has been apprehended by the Niger State Police Command.

IREPORT247NEW reported the incident which occurred on 21st February, that a police officer in Minna, Niger State, shot Assistant Superintendent of Immigration (ASI) Christian Oladimeji in what has been characterized as an accident.
Bullet hit Oladimeji on the lap, causing her to fall from the motorcycle, and sustain additional injuries. After police patrol squad retrieving stolen goods was attacked by hoodlums.

Niger State Commissioner of Police Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman said that the officer and his coworkers, who were present during the incident are currently facing administrative disciplinary action. While also donating N1 million to the officer’s family to help cover medical bills.
The statement was released by SP Wasiu Abiodun, the command spokesperson, on Monday, February 24.
The Commissioner, accompanied by DCP Aminu Garba, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, paid a visit to the injured immigration personnel at the Specialist hospital in Minna.
During the visit, the CP checked in on the officer’s status in the hospital’s intensive care unit. And let the family know that the Niger State Government had contributed somehow to the victim’s quick recovery.
