A devastating accident occurred on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Monday, resulting in the death of a 12-year-old girl and injuring her 15-year-old sister.

The driver, who is yet to be identified, was speeding on the BRT lane when he hit the two siblings, who were walking back from school.

According to a statement released by the Lagos State Police Command, the incident occurred at the Ogundare bus stop at around 3:35 pm. The victims were rushed to the Orile-Agege General Hospital for treatment, where the 12-year-old girl unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.

While Her sister was later transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital for further medical care.

The Commissioner of Police, OlohundareJimoh, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident and urged motorists to adhere strictly to traffic regulations, speed limits, and safe driving practices.
