Bayern Munich restored their eight-point lead at the Bundesliga summit after thrashing third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt 4-0 on Sunday.

Michael Olise tapped in a Leroy Sane cutback in first-half stoppage time to grab the advantage for Vincent Kompany’s hosts, who had Joshua Kimmich taken off injured just before the break.

Bayern had been held to draws in their last two matches in all competitions but kept up the pressure in the next half, adding a second goal through Hiroki Ito in the 61st minute after Kevin Trapp misjudged a corner.

Jamal Musiala atoned for Sane’s miss after 83 minutes, charging forward and finishing the move with a well-taken solo effort.

Substitute Serge Gnabry slotted in their fourth in stoppage time, capitalising on fine work from Kingsley Coman before converting through the legs of the helpless Trapp.
