Missing Anambra billionaire Benjamin Ezemma: Three Arraigned

Benjamin Ezemma, often known as BigBen, was a rich businessman who vanished without a trace.

In connection with his disappearance, three men have been brought before the Awka High Court in Anambra State.

IREPORT247NEW reported that the managing director of Dubai Estate, Awka, Ezemma, also known as BigBen, was kidnapped on November 12, 2024, and hasn’t been seen since.

In accordance with the suit number AWK/6c/2025, the defendants, who have been identified as Ozo Jeff Nweke, Nwokoye Tochukwu, and David Chukwuemeka, were faced with charges.

The defendants were accused of conspiring to kidnap and then abduct Ezemma. According to the two-count charge that was brought forward during the proceedings of the court.

All of them entered not guilty pleas in front of Justice Ike Ogu, who was presiding over the case.

Ozo Nweke, a prominent figure in Awka, was represented by Alex Ajesieme, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

On the other hand, OL Udemezue and AO Onyekachi, who were representing the second and third defendants, respectively, gave their respective representations.

The prosecution of the case was carried out by a deputy director from the Ministry of Justice.

While the first defendant was brought to court from a hospital in Enugu, the second defendant has been held in custody since November 2024.

Both defendants are now being held in custody. At this time, the third defendant is still at large.

The prosecutor asked for permission to hire a private physician to evaluate the health status of the first defendant.

While the attorney for the second defendant asked for bail, which the prosecution refused to grant.

It was decided by Justice Ike Ogu that the current situation should be preserved.

Which means that the first and third defendants would continue to be free while the second defendant will continue to be held in detention.
