Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Soun of Ogbomoso, has promised to usher in a golden age of harmony, progress, and wealth for Ogbomosoland.
In a statement released from his palace after Tuesday’s appeal court ruling upheld his enthronement as Soun, he made the vow.
In his message of thanks to the Ogbomoso people, Oba Adeoye hailed the appeal court’s decision as a win for the indigenous people of Ogbomosoland as a whole, not only for himself.
All Ogbomoso indigenous peoples, both at home and in diaspora, must stand together, he said, and he thanked the people for their prayers, support, and perseverance during the legal struggle.
Part of the statement read, “Ogbomoso is more than a town. It is a land of warriors, scholars, and visionaries.
“Our history is rich with triumphs, and our future holds even greater promise.
“As your king, I reaffirm my commitment to leading our great land into a new era of unprecedented growth, unity, and prosperity.
“The time has come to harness our collective strength to transform Ogbomosoland, building on the legacies of our ancestors while laying the foundation for generations yet unborn.
