The National Examinations Council (NECO) has accredited additional schools in Equatorial Guinea to administer the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
This move is part of NECO’s efforts to expand access to quality education and assessment beyond Nigeria’s borders.
According to NECO’s Acting Director of Public Affairs, Azeez Sani, the newly accredited schools are located in Bata, Equatorial Guinea’s largest city. The NECO Accreditation Team conducted a thorough evaluation of the schools, inspecting facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and examination halls.
After a comprehensive assessment, the schools were granted full SSCE and BECE accreditation status. NECO examinations are now written by candidates in several countries, including Benin Republic, Niger Republic, Cote’d Ivoire, Togo, Equatorial Guinea, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
