Eleven people who had been victims of sexual exploitation have been rescued by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), which has cordoned off a prominent hotel in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement that was released on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, the press officer of NAPTIP, Vincent Adekoye, disclosed this information.
He stated that the proprietor of the hotel was taken into custody, while other members of the supporting staff managed to flee.
“Operative of the Agency has sealed up a popular Three Stars Hotel located at the ever-busy Community of Kwali, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, and rescued 11 underaged girls suspected of use for sexual exploitation,” the statement read.
“Luck however ran on the owner of the hotel as she was arrested while other supporting staff escaped.
“The development came barely one month after Operatives of NAPTIP burst a private apartment located inside one of the highbrow estates in the heart of Abuja and rescued 9 pregnant girls suspected to be victims of human trafficking.”
