Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been informed by the leaders of the Balogun Business Association (BBA), which is headquartered at the International Center for Commerce in the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, Ojo, about the actions of those posing as the association’s representatives.

The traders accused these people, led by Chief Oscar Odogwu, of acting against current court cases and Federal High Court decisions in a strongly worded letter sent to the Governor and copied to the Lagos State Attorney General.

Chief Leonard Ogbonnia (Secretary, Caretaker Committee), Hon. Anselm Dunu (Chairman, Caretaker Committee), Chief Anthony Obih (Chairman, Board of Trustees), and Chief Jones Okpala (Secretary, Board of Trustees) all signed the petition.

It said, “We respectfully and humbly write to expose and bring to the attention of the Lagos State Government that the group led by Chief Paul Oscar Ikechukwu Odogwu, who has been parading himself as the ‘President’ of Balogun Business Association, is not lawfully part of the executive management or administration of the association.”

According to the petitioners, these people disregarded several orders from the Federal High Court, such as:

Corporate Affairs Commission & 4 Ors. vs. Incorporated Trustees of Balogun Business Association & 6 Ors. Suit No.: FHC/ABJ/CS/451/2021.

Inspector General of Police & 9 Ors. vs. Incorporated Trustees of Balogun Business Association & 6 Ors. Suit No.: FHC/ABJ/CS/579/2021.

Suit No.: FHC/L/CS/2665/2023 – Balogun Business Association Incorporated Trustees & 6 Ors. 8 Ors. v. Mrs. Chinyere Nwabunike.

FHC/ABJ/CS/459/2024: Sterling Bank Ltd. & Ors. vs. Incorporated Trustees of Balogun Business Association & 6 Ors.
