The Boripe Local Government Secretariat in Iragbiji, Osun State, saw the return of officials elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC in the October 15, 2022, local government elections in Osun State.
Party members who tried to seize control of the Olorunda local government secretariat in Igbona, Osogbo, were repelled, causing tension in the area.
NSCDC agents and Amotekun Corps members were present, attempting to calm down irate PDP members who had positioned themselves at the secretariat’s entrance.
However, no one was permitted entry because the gate was locked.
In a multi-story building directly across from the secretariat, two individuals who were suspected of using their phones to capture events were assaulted and had their phones destroyed.
Mr. Gani Olaoluwa, the Osun State Commissioner for Rural Development, spoke to PDP members outside the secretariat and asked them to maintain their composure.
“We thank you for heeding our call. We won’t allow any illegal takeover here. No court judgement restored them here.”
