After hours of intense security on the highways leading to the complex, Mojisola Meranda, the Speaker of the Lagos State Assembly, has finally been able to enter the House’s chambers.

The incident on Monday coincides with the House of Assembly being rocked by a leadership battle after Mudashiru Obasa was ousted as speaker.

IREPORT247NEW reports that early on Monday morning, members of the Nigeria Police and Department of State Security (DSS) raided the Lagos State House of Assembly, sealing the offices of Speaker Mojisola Meranda, her deputy, and the house clerk.

Meranda and her convoy arrived at approximately 11.15 a.m., but they were unable to enter.

Armed security guards have taken over the areas in Alausa, Ikeja, and the surrounding area as of ten in the morning, frisking everyone who comes in contact with them.
