On Sunday, February 16, the Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Yohanna, the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, performed a mass wedding ceremony for twenty-one couples in Niger State.

Couples who had finished their traditional marriage ceremonies and three months of marriage counseling attended the event, which was held at the St. Mark Catholic Church in Nsanji Nkoso, Magama local government region.

Bishop Yohanna stated that the ceremony was required to guarantee that the couples were legally wed in the eyes of the church.

He emphasized that until a couple is joined together in marriage legally and blessed in the church, it is wrong to cohabit.

The bishop encouraged the couples to build their marriages on love and companionship, stressing that marriage is a lifetime commitment.
