The emir of rano Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, has imposed a ban on church activities within residential buildings across the Emirate.

This decision comes in response to petitions came from concerned residents about the unauthorized use of residential properties for religious gatherings following through some complains, the Emir set up a special investigative committee to examine the situation. The committee’s findings revealed that a church in Yadi Quarters, Rano town, was conducting services within a residential building without going true to legal procedures.

All together Rano Emirate has 27 registered churches where Christians worship without interference, unauthorized religious gatherings in private homes sparked discontent among locals, leading to official complaints in the community.

Based on the committee’s report the Emir ordered an immediate halt to all church activities in residential buildings to maintain peace in the community.

Speaking on the issue, Alhaji Umar Isa Sarki, the committee secretary, stated that multiple petitions had been received regarding the legality of such services in private homes.
