Kwara Police Arrest Suspected Ritualist for Gruesome Murder of Final-Year Student

A final-year student of the Kwara State College of Education in Ilorin, Lawal Hafsoh Yetunde, has been brutally murdered and dismembered by her boyfriend, who she met on social media. The suspected killer, who has been arrested by the Kwara State Police Command, allegedly killed Yetunde for ritual purposes.

According to sources, Yetunde went missing on February 10, 2025, after receiving a call from her boyfriend. Her parents reported her disappearance to the Oja Oba Police Station, and the police used her phone number to track her last call, which led them to the suspect’s location.

Initially, the suspect denied any involvement in Yetunde’s disappearance, but a search of his house revealed the gruesome truth. The police found Yetunde’s dismembered body hidden in a bowl, along with equipment used to dismember her.

The suspect is currently being held at the police headquarters in Ilorin, and investigations are ongoing. The Kwara State Police Command has commended its officers for their excellent work in solving the case.

Yetunde’s death is the latest in a series of alleged murders of women by their boyfriends in Nigeria. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for greater awareness and action to prevent such crimes.

The police have urged anyone with information about the case to come forward and assist with the investigation.
