
South West Governors’ Forum Holds Meeting, Issues Communique.
The South West Governors’ Forum, comprising governors from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, and Ondo States, convened on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Governor’s Office, Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State.
The meeting focused on critical issues affecting the South West region.
Key Resolutions at the meeting included:-
*South West Development Commission (SWDC): The Forum commended the Federal Government and the Senate for establishing the SWDC and agreed to situate its headquarters at Cocoa House, Ibadan, Oyo State.
*Odu’a Investment Company Limited: The Forum acknowledged Odu’a Investment Company’s efforts in managing joint assets and commended its redevelopment projects, including the Premier Hotel in Ibadan and the proposed redevelopment of the Lagos Airport Hotel.
*Commendation of DAWN Commission. The Forum praised the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission’s improved performance and encouraged continued collaboration with South West Commissioners for Agriculture on industrialization and infrastructural development.
These resolutions aim to drive sustainable economic growth and development across the South West region .

The DAWN Commission is a technocratic institution dedicated to the sustainable development of Nigeria’s Southwest Region. Established by the governments of the Southwest states, its primary goal is to midwife the Regional Integration Agenda, ensuring the delivery of development aspirations for the region .
The commission’s mandate is to manage the Western Nigeria Development Agenda, with a vision to make the Southwest Region a preferred place for people to visit, live, work, and invest.
To achieve this, the commission aims to foster regional cooperation and integration, facilitating sustainable working relationships among governance stakeholders .

Implement the Western Nigeria Development Agenda.
The DAWN Commission is led by Director General Seye Oyeleye, who has extensive experience in administration and strategic management. The commission operates from its office in Cocoa House, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The DAWN Commission has made significant strides in promoting regional integration and development in Nigeria’s Southwest region. Some of its notable achievements include:
