Federal Government Of Nigeria is ready to set up security agents which will be responsible for any destruction or stolen of electrical Infrastructure, the main responsibility of the special force is to protect all it power installations across the country.
Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, said they have decided with the Minister of power to create a team called Power rangers.
Olubunmi said the power rangers will be created under the Office of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and will be responsible for stopping the vandalism of power infrastructure which has caused blackouts across the country.
Most report of vandals damaging power installations are the major causes of frequent blackouts sometimes in the country, the minister said it was critical to find a unique solution to the problem.
The decision to set up the power rangers team was suggested by the successes of the Mines Marshalls unveiled by the Federal Government in March 2024, so you need to study every other sector and be able to develop an arm of civil defence under them as well.
The decision to create the power rangers have been made.but the Minister did not give actual that the agents will be inaugurated.
He added, let Be reminded that all officers will be from all states and screening excecise will be from all states as well ,because there is not state without power infrastructures just like minerals resources which need to be secured.
