Police in Search for Prophetess who spread fake herdsmen Invasion in Imo.

The Nigeria Police Force of imo state command have declared one Prophetess Rev, Ijoma of Assembly Church Irete, owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, Reverend Ijeoma, is on the run after allegedly instructing her followers to spread false information about a herdsmen invasion in  the community. 

The false alert sparked widespread panic and tension among residents of the community.

However the Nigeria police command owerri Division swing into action, and through it investigation find out is it was a false information been spread by the Prophetess Ijoma and some of her other followers in the community

One Mr Chidi Emma Azonibe, 35, a follower of the prophetess was arrested for circulating the threatening message that caused significant anxiety in the Umuoba community of Irete, the false alert sparked widespread panic and tension among residents, prompting the prophetess to abandon the church.

The police spokesman Henry Okoye, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said Emma Azonibe confessed that the message was composed by his prophetess, Rev. Ijeoma of Assembly Church Irete, claimed to have received a divine revelation about some Fulani herdsmen attack and instructed Azonibe and his brother Amanea to disseminate the message within the community.

DSP, Henry Okoye said the police have intensified efforts to apprehend Rev. Ijeoma and other suspects at large, adding Azonibe is undergoing investigation and is expected to face the law.

He also warned against spreading false news and misinformation, stating that anyone found of such Acts will face the full wrath of the law.
