The reason behind former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s Monday visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has been clarified.

According to IREPORT247NEW, at approximately 12:37 p.m., Atiku arrived at Obasanjo’s residence, which is located within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), accompanied by prominent political figures from northern Nigeria, including former governors of Sokoto and Cross Rivers State, Senators Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and Liyel Imoke, respectively, as well as other notable figures.

Elder statesman Otunba Oyewole Fasawe welcomed Atiku and his entourage to Obasanjo’s residence, after which they all proceeded straight upstairs for a private meeting with the former President, who had been waiting for their arrival.

When questioned about the meeting’s specifics, Atiku told reporters it was merely a courtesy call and refused to go further.

“It’s just a courtesy visit please, I am not going to talk about politics please,” he remarked.

From 1999 to 2007, Atiku served as Obasanjo’s vice president.

Atiku also recently visited Peter Obi, a former presidential contender for the Labour Party (LP), at his home in Adamawa State.
