According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the Nigerian Army troops of Operation Fansan Yanma conducted a nighttime operation in Nasarawa village, Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State, in which they neutralized four armed criminals and apprehended one suspect.
The operation, which began late on February 10, 2025, and lasted until the early hours of Monday morning, targeted a notorious bandit hideout that was terrorizing the area.
One of the people killed was a well-known resident of Nasarawa village who had long been suspected of being involved in criminal activity.
But after receiving reliable information, soldiers launched a forceful attack and fought the robbers to the death. While another suspect was successfully apprehended and placed under arrest for additional investigation, four of the offenders were neutralized.
This most recent achievement is a result of the Nigerian military’s stepped-up efforts to eradicate local bandit organizations and bring peace back to the impacted areas.
