Jose Bordalas, the coach of Getafe, acknowledged feeling a sense of relief following their 1-0 La Liga victory over Alaves.
The visitors took the lead thanks to a penalty kick that Mauro Arambarri converted shortly before halftime.
“It was a very important match, three very important points in Mendizorroza,” Bordalas stated after the game.
It has been another survival exercise, and I am familiar with this field and what is tightening.
“We have done a good job of interpreting; there haven’t been many opportunities, but that’s the nature of these games; the key is to seize the ones you do have. We’ve been successful in doing so, and we’ve maintained order. I commend the guys for their outstanding performance.
“Yes, we must be a consistent, cohesive, and very serious team if we are to finish 2025 without dropping any league games and winning three away games. Let’s see.” We knew it was a close game with few opportunities, but we prevailed nonetheless.”
