When Aston Villa defeated Tottenham in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday night, manager Unai Emery was thrilled with their new additions.
Marco Asensio, who arrived on deadline day, and Marcus Rashford played in Villa’s 2-1 victory.
In the aftermath, Emery was also eager to emphasize the roles played by Donyell Malen and Andres Garcia.
“Today’s atmosphere was fantastic, thanks to all of the players and the fans present,” Emery remarked.
“We got off to a great start, scoring a goal in the opening minute and then creating opportunities.” We didn’t make many concessions to them.
Following Ezri Konsa’s injury, we were playing with players like Andrés GarcÃa and Lamare Bogarde. He did a great job playing. Donyell Malen performed admirably.
“The way we played the last half an hour with Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio was excellent because we need to rebuild our team, advance our structure as quickly as possible, and get the performances we did today.”
