Two oil thieves Jeremiah Ufok and Saviour Patrick have been taken into custody by Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) agents in relation to sabotage, infrastructure destruction, and illicit petroleum product transactions.
When the oil thieves were apprehended, the officers were on their regular assignment with the Commandant General’s (CG) Special Intelligence Squad.
Babawale Afolabi, the Corps’ Public Relations Officer, claims that the suspects were apprehended in Abia State’s Ukwa West Local Government Area.
They were discovered stealing crude oil from the pipelines and using local cooking pots and drums to refine it into Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
Although four suspects were initially arrested in the area, Appolos Dandaura, the Commandant of Squad, expressed shock that the suspects have refused to change their ways and allow the country’s economy to recover.
Following a comprehensive investigation, he promised, the suspects would be brought before the court to face charges.
