According to the Sun, Chelsea is pressuring Sporting to agree to a sum right away.
Essugo’s reputation is growing, and the Blues want to sign a deal before the summer.
The 19-year-old will still require some convincing to join Chelsea, though.
It is understood that Essugo does not want to be signed and then sent out elsewhere and that he wants playing promises from blues management.
Essugo, who made his first senior appearance in 2021 at the age of 16 years and 6 days, holds the distinction for being the youngest Sporting debutant.
