In an effort to combat unemployment and offer manpower support services across industries, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has officially launched and inducted 10,000 youths into the Imole Youth Corps.
Speaking Thursday at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo, the site of the inauguration, the governor characterised the initiative as a transitory arrangement intended to give youths from all backgrounds chances. He said that the youths from the state’s 332 political wards offer services related to education, security, health, and the environment.
Governor Adeleke gave the corps members the task of proving their dedication to the sector to which they were allocated.
They were also instructed to work hard in their designated locations in order to prove that they were competent.
He gave Moshood Olagunju, the Commissioner for Youth Development, instructions to implement the performance evaluation system in order to guarantee that the objectives of the program are met.
He also gave the Corps members a heartfelt congrats and instructed them to serve as excellent representatives of the recently established youth engagement platform.
In his speech, Hon. Sunday Bisi, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, the state’s ruling party, urged the corps members to work hard while serving.
