The significance of Tottenham’s forthcoming second leg against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final was underlined by manager Ange Postecoglou.

He emphasized that his squad needed to be in peak physical and mental condition.

As the team closely monitors Micky van de Ven’s recuperation, Postecoglou said that he will not be available in terms of squad fitness. Regarding availability from last week, he informed reporters: “Everyone is fine and got through okay.”

So there are no problems. Mathys (Tel) and Kevin (Danso) are both available. They are all set because they have practiced and received the all-clear to play.

“No one is available tomorrow for the remainder of them. To some degree, I think we need to be a little more conservative with Micky and Romero. Although Micky played the game well, I don’t think he’s prepared for the intensity of the Premier League.

Romero is no different. I decided that I didn’t want to risk losing these guys after Radu was sidelined for the remainder of the season, which was incredibly distressing for both him and us. In order to ensure that they are completely prepared and free from any future setbacks, we will continue to keep them busy during training. The other men are also getting near but similar sort of mindset with them.”

On Danso, he added: “He will play. Whether he starts or not we will take a look because we have another game three days later and that has been our existence for quite a while now.

You are right, Ben (Davies), Archie, Pedro (Porro) has played every minute of football we have had for the last three months, but the boys are handling it okay and the performances are still stacking up.“It’s great to get Kevin in.

He is ready to play. Whether he starts or he comes on we will make a decision. It’s really important he is part of it now because losing Radu was a massive blow so having him available is good.”
