Ramatoulie Baldeh, 19, has been taken into custody for lighting her boyfriend’s family’s Kerr Sering, Gambia, home on fire.
The incident happened on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, after she and her partner got into an argument.
Ramatoulie lighted a plastic bag and tossed it across the bed before opening a petrol cylinder, according to Gambia media. All of the house’s possessions were destroyed as the fire swiftly spread.
There were no reported injuries, but the fire did inflict a lot of damage. Ten occupants apartments were also affected by the fire, leaving them completely destroyed.
While CID investigators continue their investigation, the suspect is being held at the Senegambia Police Station.
