Security personnel have discovered the lifeless body of Justice Azuka, the member of the Anambra State House of Assembly who represents the Onitsha North 1 Constituency, close to the Second Niger Bridge.
According to reports, Azuka was abducted on December 24, 2024, while traveling home for Christmas along Ugwunaobankpa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha.
In less than five minutes, he was kidnapped at gunpoint in a quick operation. Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed the finding on Thursday, stating that a combined security team discovered the decaying body while on a routine patrol.
Ikenga stated, “The Joint Security Team, which consists of police and AVG Operatives, was on a mission to rescue abducted Hon. Azuka, Hon. State House of Assembly member representing Onitsha North, in the early hours of today, June 2, 2025, at the second Niger Bridge.
Unfortunately, they discovered his lifeless body at the scene.”
“The joint security team has taken over the scene and the operation is ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspects involved, so please stay tuned for updates as soon as I have more information.”
