During YES FM Media Ibadan’s live broadcast hosted by Yemi Sonde, Ogun citizens praised Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and wished their state’s governor, Abiodun Dapo could be like him.
Even though they don’t live in Oyo, they claimed to be able to see and hear the positive things Seyi Makinde has been doing in the state.
Critics argue that Governor Abiodun fails to meet the expectations of the people who elected him, describing his performance as subpar.
They assert that his leadership in Ogun State is lacking in several key areas, including infrastructure development, public health, and education reform. Many believe that under his administration, the state is facing significant challenges that have compounded the dissatisfaction among the residents, leading them to conclude that the situation has worsened rather than improved.
They also congratulated the people of Oyo State for their great fortune in having Seyi Makinde as their governor.
The first caller who is a resident of Ijebu North in Ogun State said, Governor Dapo is not doing half of what Governor making is doing.
He said, “Governor Dapo ought to publicly speak of his accomplishments; if he says he achieved something excellent, we will attest to it as we are not blind.
“Because Governor Makinde is performing well, the people of Oyo State are proud of him and are willing to testify for him, which makes us incredibly envious of them.”
The second caller, Kunle from Ogun state expressed his happiness for the Oyo people and expressed his desire for Oyo State and Ogun State to switch governors.
Kunle said, “I congratulate Oyo State residents on the jobs that Governor Makinde has given them and on their appointment as permanent employees.
“The Ogun State Government only hires us as temporary employees, giving us 40,000 naira for a two-year term.
“Is it supposed to be that way? We have repeatedly pleaded with the government to make us permanent, just like the Oyo Government did.
He also said, “If we could just swap governors, Governor Dapo Abiodun should move to Oyo State and Governor Makinde should come to Ogun.
“Ogun State Government is incredibly poor in terms of employment. Ogun State’s administration ought to emulate Oyo’s government, help us talk to him,” he added.
IREPORT247NEW reports the hiring of 902 officers from a variety of state civil service cadres which was approved by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in January 2025.
Findings reveals that the government also announced the hiring of 791 officers into various cadres in October 2024.
Also with the state government’s consent, people who have improved their qualifications through tertiary institutions have also profited. Almost 1,500 workers have been converted because of the governor’s generosity.
Residents of Ogun want their governor to emulate this, but it doesn’t seem conceivable because the governor isn’t trying.
The third caller lives in Oyo but is originally from Ogun State. She travels to Ogun State, she complains about the terrible roads and not pleased with situation of things.

Concerning the road matter, there’s no single lie about it, i work in Ogun state and I use pain reliever everytime I return to my house from work because of the bad road and it’s so sad that the Governor is not trying to do anything about it
