
Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State, has promised the people of Edo that his government will work with all security agencies to combat crime and criminality in the state.
The governor revealed this in a statement released by Fred Itua, Okpebholo’s chief press secretary, on Tuesday after welcoming Betty Otimenyin as the new commissioner of police in Edo State.
The governor declares his administration’s commitment to combating crime and promoting peace in the state. “We appreciate the CP agreeing to collaborate with us,” he said.
She is a woman with a man’s heart. I was acquainted with her in Jos back in 1994. On that day, I assured her that she would serve as my Commissioner of Police upon my election as governor. I have faith in her and I know she can perform.
We’re here together today, and I’ve been watching her posts. Crime in our state will be combated. Our job is to combat crime, and the new CP is the best person to do it.
The police will do everything in their power to combat crime in the state, according to the CP, who praised the governor for the cars that were recently provided to security services.
“I’m here to let Your Excellency know that I’ve returned to work and am prepared to make sure the State is crime-free.”
