A middle-aged lunatic woman, who has not yet been recognized, jumped into a deep river opposite Ekiti State Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH) Ado Ekiti on Akin Akeju Street.
It was learned that the incident happened on Sunday while the woman was being treated for a mental condition at a traditional healing home and was dispatched on an errand.
The deceased intentionally plunged herself into the river, a behavior that locals characterized as suicide.
According to a local source, after being prevented by onlookers earlier in the day, the woman returned to the river and finally leaped into it, despite numerous attempts to stop her from ending her life.
After local residents alerted the security personnel, the woman’s body was later found in the river.
