Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid’s coach, was overjoyed following his team’s 2-0 victory over Real Mallorca.

Antoine Griezmann and Samuel Lino scored to help Simeone win his 500th game as manager.

Simeone later stated, “We look to the present, but I’m very pleased with how we’ve progressed.” There were many members on the coaching staff who are no longer here, players who shared a concept, and leaders who are no longer here but accompanied us. It makes me quite delighted.”

“And if I allow myself to thank these 500 games, I’ll dedicate a portion to my family: my wife, children, and sons, because I adore this club, but I’ve spent a lot of time away from them.”

“The teams who compete for essential things allow the fewest goals. Our goal is to reach this point and advance in the attacking department. The team is performing well, and we needed this victory. We could have won before they had theirs, since any situation that slips away from you ties the game. But it all came down to Antonie’s brilliant idea.”

He continued, “I’m very lucky; I’ve had people around me who work very well, colleagues on the coaching staff, managers, individuals who constantly support us, and footballers who have followed us. There is no way of knowing if there will be any consequences on the pitch. I usually think of Gabi, Juan, and Filipe, who have left a legacy, while the rest continue to represent.”
