Former Deputy Senate President and gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2023 general election, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has said the perceived crisis among the party’s leaders in the State would soon be resolved.
Omo-Agege, speaking during stakeholder meetings with party elders, leaders, and members in Obiaruku and Kwale, Ukwuani, and Ndokwa West Local Government Areas, said the party must not dwell on past election blunders, adding, “We must work harder to ensure victory in 2027.”
He praised APC members for their tenacity in the 2023 elections, claiming that the party’s loss in the governorship race was not due to a lack of support.
He urged party leaders in the Ndokwa Nation to unite, saying, “We need everybody to join together and work as a team because the end of one election is the beginning of another.
“I appeal to you all: set aside our differences and focus on what unites us. “No one goes into an election divided and expects to win.” He underlined the need of the APC remaining focused, as well as unity, discipline, and strategic planning.
He emphasized his main accomplishment: the construction of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Kwale, which he claimed will provide quality education and foster economic growth in the state. Omo-Agege explained.
“We must work harder to achieve victory in 2027. Overcoming the PDP’s impact needs cooperation, discipline, and strategic preparation. We cannot simply rely on the results of the past election. We must continue to work to modify it so that APC prevails in Delta in 2027.”
“To face the obstacles posed by the PDP, we require unity and joint action. I implore you all to rise above sentiments and distractions and instead focus on our common aim of defeating the PDP.
“I assure you that efforts will be made to bring everybody on board to ensure a united front against the PDP in the next election. I am committed to APC 100 per cent and willing and ready to work with all the leaders and members of the party and supporters of our party.”
He reaffirmed his support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying, “We must also win Delta State for the APC in the presidential election in 2027 to sustain the country’s economic development under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The agenda has already resulted in major improvements, such as increased revenue for states and local governments, faster economic growth, lower imports, stronger exports, and higher farmer income. To keep this momentum going and assure our country’s long-term growth and development, we must reelect President Tinubu in 2027.”
