Napoli are hopeful of reaching an agreement in principle with Alejandro Garnacho; the Serie A club will then rely on United lowering their transfer demands for the 20-year-old; Chelsea are said to be ‘lying in wait’ regarding developments

Napoli hopes to reach an agreement in principle with the winger and his representatives, and then rely on their willingness to lessen United’s expectations.

Chelsea, another club tracking the Argentina international, has yet to express an official interest, and Garnacho is prioritizing Napoli.

United would be reluctant sellers, but they are not in a financial position to turn down a substantial offer for Garnacho, and they do not want to prevent him from receiving guaranteed game time elsewhere, which would benefit his development.

The 20-year-old had no intention of leaving Old Trafford during this transfer window, but has been forced to assess his alternatives and long-term future due to the circumstances.

SSN senior correspondent stated, “[Garnacho] has been professional, applied himself excellently, and demonstrated a willingness to listen to Ruben Amorim and improve under him.”

“Garnacho has demonstrated that if he is to stay at United, he can work inside the system, having started four of the last five games.”

“The level of interest in the Argentina international makes him more likely to go. It is anticipated that a £50 million compromise might result in a deal with Napoli.”
