
Africa’s top teams discovered their group rivals ahead of the 35th edition of Africa’s biggest football tournament.
The draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals took place on Monday night, and Nigeria and Ivory Coast now know who their group stage opponents will be.
The draw was held at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco.
West African giants Nigeria are in Group C alongside 2004 Afcon champions Tunisia and East African sides Uganda, and Tanzania.
Tournament hosts, Morocco are in Group A along with 2012 winners Zambia, Mali and Comoros.
While defending champions Ivory Coast will square off with five-time winners Cameroon, Gabon and Mozambique in Group F.
Meanwhile, record seven-time winners Egypt were pitted against 1996 champions South Africa in Group B, including Angola and Zimbabwe.

Due to Fifa expanding its Club World Cup competition to 32 teams and having it scheduled for June and July that year, the Afcon finals will be staged later this year.
It will be played between 21 December 2025 and 18 January 2026 in Morocco.
