Africa Energy Summit, President Tinubu Arrives Dar Es Salaam

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to attend the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit, which begins on January 27.

The President, who arrived at 10.20 p.m. (8.20 p.m. Nigerian time), was greeted by Tanzania’s Foreign Minister, Amb. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigeria High Commission in Tanzania, Ambassador Salisu Suleiman.

The Tanzanian government, the African Union, the African Development Bank Group, and the World Bank Group will host the two-day conference.

On the first day at the ministerial level, participating nations, including Nigeria, will present national energy strategies, known as compacts, outlining their plans to achieve universal energy access within five years.

On the second day, chiefs of state will sign the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration, which outlines a common path for Africa’s development toward the Mission 300 goals.

Tinubu will issue a national declaration confirming Nigeria’s commitment to universal energy access and its leading position in Africa’s energy sector.

He will also discuss Nigeria’s continuing clean energy projects and plan for promoting integrated energy supply across the continent.

Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Mr Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of Power, Mr Olu Verheijen, Special Adviser to the President on Energy, and other senior government officials joined the President on the tour.
