On Friday, the Defense Headquarters (DHQ) reported that three other gun runners in Plateau and Kaduna States had been apprehended and that forces had murdered infamous terrorist commander and gunrunner Abu Mosaje.
According to a statement from Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defense Media Operations, Abu Mosaje was murdered in Plateau State’s Barkin Ladi LGA.
In Sanga LGA of Kaduna State, the same troops reportedly captured Babangida Gora Usman, a wanted kidnap kingpin who was on a security watch list.
Other infamous gunrunner Timothy Yusuf and his son Timothy Obadiah were also taken into custody by the military.
Seven IPOB/ESN terrorists, including a well-known kidnapper and informants, were detained by troops in the South-East in the Enugu North and Ehime Mbano LGAs of Enugu and Imo States, respectively.
In total, troops killed 79 terrorists, detained 224 others, and freed 67 hostages during the reviewed week.
Additionally, 28 suspected oil thieves were apprehended by the troops, and N747,070,710.00 worth of stolen goods were found.
42 illicit refining installations, 215 crude oil cooking ovens, 26 dugout pits, 29 boats, 62 storage tanks, and 20 drums were found and destroyed by the army.
A barge, a tugboat, two pumping machines, two speedboats, nine outboard engines, two cars, twenty-one motorcycles, eleven cell phones, and eight cars were among the other goods found.
The troops found 200 liters of DPK, 12,340 liters of unlawfully refined AGO, and 842,685 liters of stolen crude oil.
According to General Buba, soldiers from every theater of operations retrieved 1,953 different types of ammunition and 104 different types of weapons.
53 AK-47 rifles, 25 fake rifles, one FN rifle, 11 dane guns, two pump action guns, one fake SMG, four IEDs, seven RPG bombs, 30 magazines, four IEDs, and three locally produced butts were among the weapons he listed as seized.
In addition, there were 35 motorcycles, 22 cell phones, 12 live cartridges, three bandoliers, one baofeng, 1,186 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 417 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 49 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, and 190 rounds of 7.62 x 54mm ammunition.
