Police in Ogun State have arrested Koya Ayodeji, a 25-year-old 500 Level Business Education undergraduate at Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye Ogun State, for allegedly stabbing his roommate, Ayobami Ajayi, a 21-year-old male and third-year Mass Communication student at the same university, in the lower abdomen during a minor argument over noise disturbances in his room on January 21.

Koya told the police that he had warned the victim to reduce his noise, but he refused, which sparked a heated argument during which he became enraged and stabbed Ayodeji in the stomach.

The inquiry revealed that Koya Ayodeji is suspected of being under the influence of strong drugs, according to police sources. The divisional police officer promptly called a medical examiner to perform a toxicological screening after he was taken into custody.

After being taken to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu for emergency care, the victim underwent surgery and is reportedly in stable condition.

Once the inquiry is finished, the suspect will face charges in court.
