The arrest warrant against Ezekiel Onyedikachi, also known as Eezee Tee, the former manager of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, was revoked by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday.
According to IREPORT247NEW, the music producer was the subject of a bench warrant issued by Justice Alexander Owoeye last week in response to an ex parte order filed by the EFCC.
However, the commission’s attorney, Bilikisu Buhari, requested that the court revoke the warrant.
Eezee Tee was charged by Mercy Chinwo of embezzling $345,000 in royalties from her events and internet platforms.
In response to Chinwo’s accusations, EeZee Tee claimed in an Instagram post that the gospel singer had broken their contract and was ungrateful.
After the manager’s attorney appealed the decision to revoke the arrest warrant, the court agreed, arguing that their client was not aware of the prior summons and that he would appear in court voluntarily. In exchange for the manager making all upcoming court appearances, the EFCC consented to revoke the warrant.
Following the conclusion, the case was postponed to February 14, 2025, in order to arraign Eeeze Tee.
