Idris Okuneye, a well-known Nigerian transgender person who goes by Bobrisky, has responded to US President Donald Trump’s recent directive that only two genders are recognized: male and female.
The policy aims to create the recognition of only two genders throughout all U.S. government programs and is one of several executive orders that Trump signed on his first day back in office.
Bobrisky expressed confidence in her identify as a woman and rejected worries about the policy in response to the announcement.
On Instagram, Bobrisky posted, “I don’t have business with Trump. Trump said we have only two genders, right? And I said I am now a woman that has undergo everything. If they ask for evidence, I will show them, simple.”
