An incoming White House official announced Monday that Donald Trump will force the US government to formally accept only two biological sexes before his inauguration.
“What we’re doing today is defining that it is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes: male and female,” the official told reporters.
This policy directive is consistent with the administration’s previously declared positions on gender and biological identity and is anticipated to be one of Trump’s first acts upon taking office.
