Two suspects have been taken into custody by the Delta State Police Command in relation to the murder of a 10-year-old girl who is one of the suspects’ sisters.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, made this revelation in a message posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, January 20.
“The boyfriend of the girl deceived one of the triplets, who is a sister to his girlfriend, and took her to meet two unknown men, where they used a machete to kill the little girl, who is 10 years old,” Edafe said in a video he posted of the suspects being questioned. Even though they promised to provide him ₦200,000, he never saw it.
Edafe clarified in the video that the female suspect is the older sister of triplets who are ten years old and under her custody.
According to reports, her boyfriend, the 20-year-old male suspect named Precious, went up to the female suspect and pleaded for one of the triplets.
He went behind the girlfriend and snatched one of her 10-year-old sisters since she wouldn’t give them up to him.
After that, he gave the daughter to two individuals who had assured him that if he delivered them a child, they would give him N200,000.
Precious claimed that after giving the infant to them, he saw them use a cutlass to butcher her. He claimed to have experienced “pain” upon witnessing her being k!lled.
The girlfriend announced that her lover had requested one of the triplets when she saw that one of them was absent.
When the locals discovered the boyfriend, they attacked him, but the cops stopped them from giving him jungle justice.
His girlfriend neglected to sound the alarm when he requested her for one of her sisters, which led to Precious’ arrest and her detention.
The two guys Precious gave the child to are still on the loose.
According to Precious, he doesn’t know where the men are and they haven’t paid him yet.
Bright Edafe said that “not even the child’s remains had been found.
