Approximately 700 youths in Osun State have signed up for the inaugural creative seminar aimed at promoting the state’s economic growth.

Mr. Bamikole Omisore, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s special adviser on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), told reporters in Osogbo yesterday that the seminar, which is scheduled for January 28 to 30, will take place at the SDG Skills Acquisition Centre in Iragbiji.

He alluded to the program’s emphasis on SDGs 8, 9, and 11, which centre on infrastructure, industry, innovation, and decent work as well as sustainable cities and communities.

The meeting, he said, demonstrates the administration of Adeleke’s dedication to promoting economic growth via innovation.

The event, which has as its topic “Innovate, Create and Transform: Unlocking the Creative Economy for Sustainable Development,” will emphasise how important creativity is to fostering economic expansion and attaining sustainable development.

Omisore said that in order to make the conference special, the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, Agency on Creativity, Entertainment and Art, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, stakeholders, leaders of the commercial sector, and development partners were working together and nonstop.

In order to excite and empower attendees—the majority of whom are young people with potential in the creative industry—the conference will include a number of captivating workshops, exhibitions, and cultural performances, he continued.
