In the Amai community in Delta State’s Ukwuani Local Government Area, a 70-year-old man named Mr. Aghanti and his 50-year-old daughter, Mrs. Atagoshi, were allegedly decapitated due to a land dispute.

It was learned that Mrs. Atagoshi, a pastor’s wife and a secondary school teacher, had previously bought a plot of land in the neighborhood, which several people later claimed.

DSP Bright Edafe, the State Police Command spokesperson who verified the occurrence, claimed that the attacker decapitated the victims after luring them into the bush while claiming to be talking about the land dispute.

“The suspect called the woman, saying he wanted to discuss the land issue. He then took her and her father into the bush, killed them, and beheaded them,” the PPRO said.

“On the same day, vigilantes apprehended one Emeke with two human heads. He was mobbed and set ablaze by angry residents. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the human heads belonged to the father and daughter.

“Their headless bodies were found in the bush.”

The primary suspect is still at large, and efforts are being made to apprehend him, Edafe continued.
