According to the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, Julius Abure still remains the Labour Party’s national chairman.

The appeal court’s three-member panel affirmed its November 13, 2024, ruling that recognized Abure as National Chairman in a ruling issued Friday by Justice Hamma Barka. It was established by the court that no other court has reversed this ruling.

This statement was given by Justice Barka in the decision regarding two distinct appeals submitted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, the caretaker committee, and Senator Esther Nenadi Usman.

According to the Court of Appeal, the Labour Party leadership issue was not addressed since it is not a matter that can be decided in court.

Additionally, the court declared that any action performed outside of its authority is void.

As a result, the Federal High Court struck aside the judgment that Justice Emeka Nwite issued on October 8, 2024, because it was ruled ineffectual due to its lack of jurisdiction.

By dismissing the lawsuit, the Appeal Court upheld its earlier ruling on November 13, 2024, which said that “Abure remains National Chairman of the Labour Party.”
