The Nigerian Security Civil Defence Corps, or NSCDC, has detained Ibrahim Haruna, 85, on suspicion of raping a four-year-old girl.
The incident took place in the Kongo hamlet within the state’s Keffi local government area.
Jerry Victor, the Corps Public Relations Officer, said this during a press conference in the state capital of Lafia.
According to the PRO, when the victim’s older sister noticed the young child was walking uneasily and had blood trickling from her legs, she raised the alarm.
Mr. Jerry claims that the sister asked the young girl what was wrong with her and she then described her experience at the hands of the older suspect.
He further said that the suspect enticed the young girl into his room when no one else was there, enabling him to carry out the crime.
A medical test was performed, and it was verified that the young girl had been defiled, according to Mr. Jerry Victor, who gave a medical report to reporters.
A representative for the command declared that following an inquiry, the case would be turned over to the state ministry of justice for a prompt trial.
Ibrahim Haruna, 85, refuted the accusation in an interview, calling it a frame-up.
The four-year-old victim’s parents and the alleged elderly guy were neighbors, according to the findings.
Also, The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ Nasarawa state command has detained three suspected cult members for reportedly harassing and destroying inhabitants of Layin Yan Kaji and Super Cinema Street in the state capital of Lafia.
The Corps is committed to minimizing crime and destruction of both public and private facilities throughout the state, according to the command’s spokesman in the state.
Two locally manufactured pistols, live cartridges and ammunition, phone pliers, and scissors were among the items found on the suspected cultists.
Recall that over the Yuletide holiday in December of last year, a suspected cult conflict between rival gangs resulted in the burning of one motorcycle and the ruin of six other vehicles in the Lafia city’s Layin Kaji and Super Cinema streets.
