In Ibadan, Oyo State, a middle-aged man who has not yet been recognized was shot and killed by gunmen on Monday afternoon.
As reported, the terrible event happened near Anfani Junction on Ring Road in Ibadan at approximately 3:00 pm.
According to witnesses, the attackers followed the victim to the scene on motorcycles before starting to shoot.
The victim was shot twice before he surrendered the spirit, according to one of the witnesses.
He said: “We heard gunshots. He was shot twice. At first, we thought it was a tire burst, but then we saw the young man lying in a pool of his blood.
“He was shot in the abdomen. They didn’t take his phone, but they took something from him that was likely to be money. We suspected that he must have been coming from a bank.”
A motorcycle rider, who witnessed the incident, said, “I first thought it was police pursuing Yahoo boys. But when he was shot, we all had to run for safety. By the time we realized they were killers, they had moved toward Anfani Road.”
The Incident was confirmed by CSP Adewale Osifeso, the Oyo State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer.
Osifesi said that efforts were being made to determine the deceased’s identify and that an inquiry was under progress.He promised to offer updates as the inquiry progressed.
